Recent Acquisitions

Recent Acquisitions: an eye shadow color I can't live without, an alarmingly bright OCC Lip Tar, and some Hudson, Bailey 44 and Splendid clothing splurges to help my wardrobe transition into Fall.

Can't forget the fabulous Taradise bracelet I received last week, as well as my absolute favorite cat eye sunglasses by Italia Independent. Thank you!

What do you guys think of these new items?

Italia Independent gifted us bloggers with our choice of eyewear from their collection as part of Mercedes Benz Swim Week and the photoshoot we did for the Sagamore Hotel.  I selected this amazing, bright orange pair (called the Mod 33)  as seen here.  I could not be happier with them.  They're awesome.

I bought the Naked Eye palette by Too Faced, literally, for one shadow: Satin Sheets.
Too Faced is one of my absolute favorite makeup brands for eye shadows.  I find their shadows to be super silky and pigmented, as well as long wearing.  Satin Sheets doesn't come as a single, and it does not pop up that often (clever marketing tactic), so I purchased this palette to add to my ever growing collection.
The two larger colors on the left, In the Buff and Pink Cheeks are throwaways, but all other shadows are very wearable and pigmented.

This is my first OCC Lip Tar in Anime.  These have a cult following and I wanted to see what that was all about.  So far, so good.  The color is super rich...the tiniest bit goes a long way - enough to coat your lips (this is the only lip product I own that includes a little step by step instruction card in the packaging).  This has serious staying power.  It stained my lips well into the next day.  Comes with the little lip brush.

Saw it. Had to have it. Splurged on it.
I sized up from XS to S and the S is still very form fitting.

 Some fun Sephora VIB goodies.

Remember Lexi Jewelry from this post? I love this other necklace that I received! Thank you!

This bracelet was sent to me by Tara, owner of Taradise Miami.  Taradise is NOT the show that Tara Reid used to host on E! It's a super chic online boutique that sells Grecian inspired bracelets, headpieces, rings and other accessories.  Some of the stones used in the pieces are sourced in Greece, and the eye bracelets all have a Grecian charm on them.  Mine is a take on the Nenita bracelet.  I love this braided headpiece.

The Jeans are the Hudson Collin Skinny jeans in black. These jeans made me fall in love with black denim all over again (as if I needed a reason).  The pictures do not reflect it but they're SUPER black, and fit like a dream.  They're soft, comfortable and have, perhaps, converted me from a Seven for All Mankind Loyalist to a Hudson girl.  Also seen here is the Splendid Dolman Sleeve Top. One of my Step into Fall purchase - a large knit, super soft sweater in a loose, over-sized fit.

La Fenice Blondie Pump - this shoe is my introduction into this brand.  My feet are so difficult to fit! I have a skinny, high arch.  I basically just buy whatever shoe fits me, regardless of the style, because it's so hard for me to find a good pair of comfortable shoes.  I fell in love with these, because I had been looking for a pair of good pumps with an ankle strap, similar to these from Asos.  We will see if they're really comfortable, after I wear them for a while, but at least they look hot.

Beauty File: Make Up For Ever Artisan Brush Collection

It's no secret that I am a big makeup and product junkie, and I really love Make Up For Ever products.  I recently learned that Make Up For Ever has branched out further into the beauty industry by launching a high quality, professional makeup brush line!  The brush handles are made of beech wood, the brush fibers are synthetic but mimic natural hair, and there are 76 brushes in the entire line, which makes the Artisan Brush Collection the most expansive luxury brush collection on the market.  I am one of the lucky girls that had a chance to preview and test out  five super high grade brushes from their line before it officially launched.

The Artisan Brush Collection is categorized by numbers.

  • 100s are all complexion brushes
  • 200s are all eye brushes
  • 300s are all lip brushes
  • 400s are all "artistic" brushes designed to be used by professionals in the makeup industry

I received five brushes; two complexion brushes and three eye brushes.

Designer Spotlight: Red Valentino

I have been so obsessed with Red Valentino ever since its inception.  The pieces are luxurious and expensive, but gorgeous, well made, and so detail oriented.
Check out the line below:

Plus these two pretty things:

Tomorrow's post will feature a highly anticipated makeup brush debut.
Happy Friday.

MBFWSwim: Nanette Lepore Swim 2014

Nanette Lepore and Maaji (coming up next week) were two of my favorite collections to watch.

For this show, I got prime seating and made some friends who helped me get the perfect shots of the different looks.  I really enjoyed the vibrant colors and unique patterns on the swimwear; there were lots of purple tones mixed with turquoise that made everything pop!

A huge thank you to Jimmy Lepore for my invite to the exclusive Nanette Lepore Swim 2014 show.   I also briefly met Nanette Lepore, one of my favorite designers.

Definitely a great Swim Week highlight for me!!

I am wearing the Nanette Lepore Magic Rain Dress (Similar here) (Similar here) Nanette Lepore is wearing her Dada Romper (variation of her Avante Garde dress) paired with her Cyclone Clutch.
First look of the show! Model wearing the Saint Etienne Bikini Top  and Beach Pant
